Track Name: A Lot to Learn
Do you hear that sound
the old man garbled
as he ventured out into the land of
misconception, dirt and gravel
I turned to him, said "I think its an echo
I think its just the pistons pumping fists."

If yesterday was news
then the present is a truth
which expires at a gallop,
on the double, in full tilt, that's a fact
and if its the present that will leave us to that
then the future won't bring anything at all

I am experiencing
the periodic table of a human being
Cognitive theories will have us believing
that love, lust and hate are just an adrenal response

Showered down like a burst full of lightning
or better yet a fragment or a flaw called a feeling
Its a modern state of behavior called doubt
its a modern state of behavior called doubt

I tried to live my youth with no sorrow and no regret
so that I'd have nowhere to go to and nothing I should get

You got a lot to learn
You got a lot to burn

There's ample evidence with increasing significance
that in the future will have bodies with pre-programed postures
reminiscent fo a Laurie Lipton subject
sharpened gears and strangled wires
on a multitude of non-human objects

Growing up in a city of doubt
an American culture is a culture without
Track Name: Old Days
Leave it as you will
your common sense will take you for the kill
your notions, thoughts and feelings they will spill
they'll all spill out with time

You'll make grave mistakes
you'll blame it on the friendships that you'll make
you'll blame it on the instances at stake
a cause which you can't find

You can take my advice
or crush it in a vice
you can lock it up and save it
but all you've got is time
don't waste theres.

Save it in your heart
save it like you would a work of art
save it so you'll never fall apart
fall apart with time

Don't concern yourself
on past events that throw you on the shelf
they'll make you useless in and of itself
they'll cripple your own mind
Track Name: Battle Stained Scars
I was only thinking about the distance of the stars
and the distance in between us
and how different that we are
we're a strange, disconnected heart

I am just an emotional cassette tape
my thoughts loop through spools
winding down like veins past my battle stained scars
convalescing to the beat of my heart

If you looked out at the Earth from the Moon
while standing in a crater of that dark, dead rock
you would hope to come home soon
but if you looked at the sky from home
the stars and their series of trajectories
would make you feel so utterly alone

We float on life through trajectories
to pointless destinations vivisecting
our own battle stained scars
carving out who we are

This ugly machine draws uncertainty
it does it so much it does it repeatedly
it draws from the tongue, from the limbs, from the neck
carrying out its painful habits like a crash before the wreck
and now I'm wrecked.
Track Name: Counterbalance
During these sad events
I've come to terms with all my cards
internal executioners
and villains are at large
they'll use a counterbalance
and a pivot and a load
to justify reactions
on the things which we are told
and my head just keeps on spinning
and my mind begins to fold
and everything is nothing
and we keep on getting old
and I'm sick of all your bullshit,
and I'm sick of all this shit
please accommodate my stomach
and all the cramps that come with it
cuz I'm looking for a better way
to deal with all my strife
and I'm looking for a better way
to get on with my life
and they'll colonize our future
and they'll colonize our foes
and they'll colonize our citizens
with colonizing drones
and they'll use a counterbalance
and a pivot and a load
to justify reactions
for the things which we are told

Constant, my heart is racing
call it contamination of my own life

All this time my heart was aching
never thought of celebrating eyes
yours and mine
Track Name: Tragedy Blues
I found myself out of breath just thinkin' about you
and you talk, talk, talk, talk, and all of it is true
and we all have our own tragedy blues
and the more you talk, and talk, and talk
the more that they will come true

I'm on pins and needles just thinkin' about you
and I wait, wait, wait, wait, and nothing comes true
and only when my tired thoughts retire from my skull
I can finally break through

You sang with fiery sparks
as I sank like a rock
onto your vacant look, shuddered
out left with the dogs

And we talked for hours in your car
about nothing at all
and you thought you'd hurt me
and I thought that I was in love

Please don't shrug me off like a bad man, no.

It doesn't matter if I'm fine or if I'm falling to pieces
either way I'm a spectacle until your attention decreases
it seems like our subconscious is connected by a line
but extensive wear and stern abuse will unravel it with time

And then I will retreat into my own mental bomb shelter
Track Name: Slow Motion Camera
I saw sparks
at the bottom of a lake
glowing little fishes
they look all the same

The jealousy and intrigues
and petty, sordid rivalries
you know that they will bury me
they know I fear everything

I went down walking under amber street lights
A dreamlike calm carried me in the night
a slow motion camera for mind
